Located in Harris County, just 30 miles north of Houston. The city was founded in 1907 by William Henry “Uncle Billy” Brown, a local congressman and land speculator who saw the potential for growth in the area. The town was named after Thomas Henry Ball, a local landowner who provided the land for the railroad that runs through the town. It is well known for its quaint downtown area.
