Unity Park Drive runs 0.7 miles between Sullivan Park on FM 1488 and the 30-acre park and wildlife preserve the City of Magnolia calls Unity Park. You can drive, bike or walk it, and it links the two ends of The Stroll, the half-mile linear park laid through the town's original township. That road will carry both of the season's big community nights this year. On Saturday, November 7, the city holds its first-ever Fall Festival at Unity Park. Four weeks later, on Saturday, December 5, the Southwest Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce brings the Magic of Christmas Parade of Lights to the same park.
Between those two dates, Magnolia's recurring markets and the last weekends of the Texas Renaissance Festival keep filling the same Saturdays and the same stretch of FM 1488. Use the two park dates to set your plans, and expect company on both of them.
The City Just Added Itself to the Fall Calendar
The City of Magnolia's parks page already treats Unity Park as more than a weekday green space. It calls the park "award-winning," notes that it is "a highly desired event destination in the area," and says residents can rent it for private use along with Williams Pavilion. Until now, the city has mostly lent the park out for other people's gatherings. This fall the city is throwing a party of its own there.
The city's own First Annual Fall Festival page lists Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 19450 Unity Park Dr. The Woodlands Online listing, which credits City of Magnolia Special Events as organizer, gives more detail:
- More than 60 local vendors selling products and one-of-a-kind finds
- Food, sweet treats and refreshments
- Family games, activities and fall entertainment
- A dunk tank where you can dunk a member of city council
The same listing says the city is still taking sponsorships from local businesses. Neither page gives admission prices or parking instructions, so check the city's page again during the week of the festival.
November 7 Is the Most Crowded Saturday of the Fall
Three separate events fall on November 7.
- The Fall Festival at Unity Park, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Texas Makers Market at St. Paul Lutheran Church. St. Paul's own page says vendors set up on the church grounds on the first and third Saturdays of each month, and November 7 is the first Saturday of the month. The market's Eventbrite series gives the address as 21088 FM 1488 and advertises local makers and growers, free admission and free parking.
- A Texas Renaissance Festival weekend. The 2026 season runs on weekends from October 10 through November 29, plus Thanksgiving Friday, at 21778 FM 1774 in Todd Mission.
The overlap in timing matters most. The Renaissance Festival's directions and parking guidance names 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as its heaviest arrival window, with traffic monitoring from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on festival days. That window sits inside the Fall Festival's 10-to-4 run. The same guidance points drivers coming from The Woodlands toward FM 1488. It also tells them to stay off residential streets and side roads that navigation apps suggest during congestion. So on November 7, out-of-town festival traffic, Makers Market shoppers and families heading to Unity Park could all be on FM 1488 at once.
If you live on the Magnolia side, you'll probably have the easiest day if you get to Unity Park by 10 a.m. or come back after 2 p.m. That timing comes straight from the Renaissance Festival's own arrival data. Magnolia has a reason to be patient with that traffic. The parks page calls the city the festival's "official Host City," and the Stroll hosts events through the year that "welcome the Texas Renaissance Festival in the fall."
The Quieter Stops Between the Two Big Saturdays
Away from Unity Park, the next few weeks offer smaller things, mostly on days other than Saturday.
A new room at the library on Monday, November 9. The Montgomery County Memorial Library System opens an Innovation Space at the Malcolm Purvis Library, 510 Melton St., as part of its systemwide Innovate@MCMLS program. According to the city's announcement, the Magnolia Economic Development Corporation helped develop the space, which offers creative technologies, STEM resources and hands-on learning. The grand opening runs from 3 to 4 p.m. It's on a Monday afternoon, two days after the festival, and you don't have to plan around any traffic to get there.
Sunday markets on The Stroll. A Woodlands Online article from August 31, 2026 describes the Magnolia Stroll's Farmers & Artisans Market as running on the first, third and fifth Sundays of the month, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Sullivan Park end of The Stroll. On that schedule, the remaining 2026 Sundays are November 15, November 29, December 6 and December 20. November 29 is also the last day of the Renaissance Festival season. These are regular-schedule dates rather than individually announced ones, so check before you go.
Biscuits on FM 1488, sometime soon. Community Impact reported in September that The Flying Biscuit Cafe was aiming for a November opening at 5667 FM 1488, Ste. D, with Southern-style breakfast, lunch and brunch. Later that month, The Magnolia Standard noted that the company's locations page listed the Magnolia store for the fourth quarter of 2026 without an exact date. Count it as expected, not as a set date.
Coffee in 2027. Further up FM 1488, PJ's Coffee plans a shop at 11510 FM 1488, Ste. 100. Community Impact reported on October 19, citing a state filing, that construction is scheduled to start November 30 and finish around February 26, 2027. You'll likely see the work underway before the parade, but don't expect to buy coffee there this season.

December 5 Brings Everyone Back to Unity Park
The season ends where it started. The Southwest Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce lists the 2026 Magic of Christmas Parade of Lights for Saturday, December 5, at 5:30 p.m. at Unity Park. This year's theme is "North Pole Radio," and the Grand Marshal is the Magnolia Intermediate Student Council. Constable Chris Jones of Montgomery County Precinct 5 is the Hometown Hero Sponsor, and Houston Methodist is the Business Community Underwriter.
The Chamber asks spectators to arrive early because the parade "will start at DUSK and end with the last float." The Eventbrite registration page is for floats and sponsors, and it says attendees pay no fee and don't need to register. It lists the event from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. That page gives a different location, Magnolia Junior High School at 31138 Nichols Sawmill Road, while the Chamber's page says Unity Park. Before you pick a spot to watch from, check the Chamber's event page for the final venue. If your business, team or club wants a float, the Chamber says spots are limited. You can reach it at [email protected] or 281-356-1488.
December 5 overlaps with other plans too, though less than November 7 did. It's the first Saturday of December, so the Makers Market on FM 1488 is on its regular schedule that day. The Renaissance Festival will have closed for the year the Sunday before. With the Renaissance Festival season over, the parade Saturday has one less crowd to plan around than the Fall Festival Saturday.
If your family's plans this fall run through Unity Park and FM 1488, you already know which streets fill up on which weekends. The same street-level knowledge applies to what homes are worth. The Realty Chick tracks Magnolia block by block, and if you're curious what your place would bring before the next festival season, hatch your next move with a free home valuation.
